Embarkment went very smooth we were on this Ship by 12:30 and our cabin was ready. We had an outside cabin one thing I must say is that the cabin is very nice in size. This is my third time on this ship. My first time was when the ship was brand new and was doing two day cruises to Nowhere from New York. My second time was this past October 2002. We did a 7-day Western Caribbean. This was the first time that my daughter who is 9 was on this ship. First, Camp Carnival did not measure up our expectations. My daughter only went to a few activities. I thought the whole idea of camp was to give the parents a break. Camp Carnival had more family activities. Second, our waiter was not the friendliest person. One thing I would like to see changed is that on Formal nights guest who are not in proper attire should not be allow to dine in the dinning rooms. The ship's Cruise Director, Gary Linton was the worst. He was nothing like John Heald who we had on our Caribbean cruise John made you laugh until you were crying. I understand that they change Cruise Directors but come on Gary was not funny at all. I was very happy with the food but they need to change their menu around. We traveled with a couple that was a diabetic and there really was nothing on the menu for him. Our cabin steward was great. The room was always clean and made up fast. Once in Canada we signed up for the Hop on Hop off tour this was a total waste of money I would not recommend this tour. I'm not sure if Carnival started something new for Disembarkment but they had what they called self-assist. This was the best we didn't have to leave our bags outside the cabin the night before. In fact, self assist passenger were the first ones called the ship. No more waiting to have your color called. In all we had a great time. |
